Lamb Burgers

A slightly spicy and very moist burger that all the eight kids rave over.

Lamb Burgers


  • Ground lamb: 1 lb
  • Chopped fresh oregano: 2 tbsp
  • Chopped garlic: 1 tbsp
  • Sherry: 1 tsp
  • Molasses: 1 tsp
  • Ground cumin: 1 tsp
  • Ground allspice: 1/4 tsp
  • Red pepper flakes: 1/2 tsp
  • Salt: 1/2 tsp
  • Ground black pepper: 1/2 tsp
  • Pita bread rounds: 4
  • Crumbled feta cheese: 4 oz
  • Chopped fresh mint leaves: 2 Tbsp
  • Chopped fresh cilantro: 2 Tbsp
  • White wine vinegar: 1 tsp


  1. Preheat grill for medium heat.
  2. Place the lamb in a large bowl, and mix with the mint, cilantro, oregano, garlic, sherry, vinegar, and molasses. Season with cumin, allspice, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper, and mix well. Shape into 4 patties.
  3. Brush grill grate with oil. Grill burgers 5 minutes on each side, or until well done. Heat the pita pocket briefly on the grill. Serve burgers wrapped in pitas with feta cheese.
